5 Easy Projects Anybody can do Even Without Woodworking Plans Online

There is a very large amount of woodworking plans online to be found on the Internet with a little research. Weather you are a beginner or a professional, using woodworking plans makes the realization of your projects much easier and organised.

There are so many things you can do as a beginner in woodworking, that do not take a lot of time, tools and experience. The most important is to get started, if this is a new hobby you want to get into, and to find the right woodworking plans online to get you going quickly.

Here are some basic ideas that anybody can make, even with left over pieces of wood laying around the house.

A Cutting Board

This is an ideal item to start with that does not need a lot of tools. For this item you may want to choose a hard wood such as maple or oak. The principal tool you will need is a jig saw to cut out your board design. This is an easy woodworking project to begin with if you need to learn the basics. Remember to sand your board following the wood grain.

A Simple Bird House

This is a classic easy woodworking project. There are many styles to choose from and it could be made with almost any kind of wood except treated wood. Use your creativity to create an original one. Remember that there is a special kind of bird house to attract a specific specie of bird.

A Wooden Planter

Make your wife happy by building a few wooden planters to decorate the yard with flowers. Then you put a thin plastic liner in the bottom to protect the wood. Remember to drill holes too to allow the excess of water to drip out. This is an easy woodworking project that you can also make for free.

A Picture Frame

This is an other simple project where you can be original. Even if you decide to buy some fancy wood to do it, it will still allow you to make a substantial saving compare with buying it already made. Begin with a small one to get familiar with the way to do it and then try doing larger ones.

A Firewood Storage Box

This is a very practical thing to have near your fireplace and you should not have to pay hundreds of dollars to get one. The most beautiful boxes are made with old wooden boards that gives them a rustic look. You can also make smaller chests for storing toys, pencil boxes, bird feeders, key holders, decorative crafts, and so forth.

These are all easy woodworking projects that you can make without much instructions, just using a bit of creativity will do. But if you plan on making bigger projects such as dog houses, picnic tables or wooden furniture, go to the next post below to find the right woodworking plans online.

Enjoy the wonderful hobby of woodworking!

  6. I mainly do plastering, taping and jointing, yet occasionally I am called to do some woodwork projects. I much prefer the bespoke furniture look though around a house than the Ikea flat pack look, nice work.
